Another Busy Week

So I got a bunch of cute pictures this week so be for warned there are going to be a lot of pictures in this blog. Well this week has been much better then weeks past. Don't get me wrong he is still crying quite a bit but not as much. The Doctor finally after much persistence from me diagnosed him with Acid Reflux and put him on medicine for it. I think this medicine better work because it cost $180.48 can you believe it! We have only used it a couple days so far but so far so good.

Brayden has loves to be read to we found out. I don't know if it's the funny voices or the pictures he likes but he smiles and giggles all through the books. The only problem is we only have 3 board books so they are getting read a lot. So quick Christmas idea for all the grandparents out there are more board books.

I have also developed a new obsession to the show Glee. For all you who have yet to watch it you are missing out. It's a show about a high school glee club and of course full of high school drama but when they sing it is AWESOME! All the songs on the blog are from the show and my favorite one right now is "defying gravity" you should all listen to it. Brayden gets to hear these songs all day long some days, but I figure it is better then a lot of music out there he could be hearing.

Also this week Ben and I finally got our swine flu shots. This was the last weekend they were doing the priority groups so we sucked it up and braved the cold (it snowed the night before) and long lines to make sure Brayden stays healthy. The lines were so much shorter then the first week we tried it was amazing. I guess everyone either gave up or got there's already.

Suri has become quit the little naughty kitty. She chewed through the dust buster charger wire, my ipod charger, and the computer speaker wires. Can you believe they were all plugged in when she did this too. One day she is going to get a big shock when do this. Needless to say we were less then thrilled wit her! I think she is jealous and acting out.

I am actually starting my Christmas shopping this week because so far I have zero gifts and I think like 6 weeks or something till Christmas. So do any of you have great gift ideas this year? I am at a lost what to get most people so all suggestions are welcome!

Big Girls don't cry, but little boys do

See this sweet adorable smiling face we had to capture it so we can remember that Colic doesn't last forever. We have been to the doctor 3 times in a week and basically all that has been figured out is our little man has"severe colic". I feel so bad for him because you can hear all the air in his little body and he is in pain. He also is having problems sleeping because of the pain so he is only napping for 15 minutes. So then by the end of the day we have a extremely tired baby who hurts. Here are the things we have tried that work and don't work....

Don't work
-Gripe Water
-Mylicon Drops
-Canadian Gripe Water (it's suppose to be stronger)
-Peppermint
-Hot pads
-Vibrating Chairs
-Taking Milk out of my diet
-Lots of Burping

Do Work

Yeah so far there is nothing that works. Anyways enough with the pity party. Ben and I gave talks on Sunday which turned out ok because I made Ben make his twice as long so I could get away with 10 minutes. I know I am mean but I didn't have time to write a good talk so I let my husband pick up the slack. So we have a pretty small ward and only have 4 young women and 3 young men in it so there was no youth speakers and very little ward business. Basically they gave us like 55 minutes to fill so it may have been the shortest sacrament meeting they ever had but hey we will probably never have to give a talk again.

2 Month Stats

Ok so Brayden had his 2 month check up today at with the doctor and here is his new information.....

Height: 23 Inches (50th Percentile)
Weight: 10 lbs 10 ozs (20th Percentile)

I know he is little like his Mom right now but he has gone from the 6th percentile for weight to the 20th so he has grown a lot. He also got his immunizations which were not fun for any of us but is recovering well. Plus the Doctor said it sounds like he has colic so we have new drops that hopefully help him feel a little better.

Halloween

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's SUPER BRAYDEN!! Yes Brayden was a very adorable superman for his first Halloween. I thought it was an excellent choice for him and I knew it would make his cousin Colter proud to know that his cousin is superbaby. He can't fly yet but maybe he'll pick it up when he learns to walk. Anyways.... We had a great time yesterday. First we took him to visit Grandma and Grandpa Johnson, then it was off to see Nana K and Grandpa Wally. Finally our last stop was our wards Trunk or Treat. It was actually not to cold outside so I decided to take Brayden from car to car. Of course he feel asleep and then it was just me looking like a beggar at each car and explaining to people that Daddy would be eating the candy not the baby (Yes some people thought it was for him). All the kids in the ward kept going till all the candy was gone but after one round of a zonked out baby and me pimping him out for candy we called it quits. I think he got a pretty decent amount of candy for his first time trick or treating though. Tomorrow he gets all his shots from the doctor at his 2 month visit so hopefully I can hold it together and not cry. I'll try to get his new stats up from the appointment tomorrow too.

Oh and if you didn't notice I got my hair cut and new bangs!!!

Mr. Wiggles first snow

Can you believe it snowed on Thursday! I was so sad because I hate snow and the thought of winter coming blows. I am trying not to let these feelings rub off on my child so that maybe he can grow up liking the frozen waste land that is winter. Anyways he got to see snow for the first time and seemed interested in watching it through the window for a while. Later we went to run an errand and he got to wear is cute snow outfit (he hates his car seat thus the sadness).

One of Brayden's favorite things to do is wiggle on his diaper mat before and after changes. We call him Mr. Wiggles when he does this and I got a short video of him playing.

Week in Review

So I realize lately that I have only been blogging on Sundays because it seems they are the only night that Ben is not working late and I am not worrying about housework. So because I only get around to it once a week here is our week in review.

This week has been FULL of crying. We think Brayden is developing colic because he is fussy all day long now. He has been crying almost from Sun up to Sun down this week. We have tried Gripe Water but we haven't had the best of luck yet. I keep hoping it will kick in but if not we see the doctor in just over a week and maybe he can suggest something.
Despite the screaming we took a family field trip to the pumpkin patch saturday. I really wanted a picture of all of us together there but it was so cold I didn't dare let Brayden out of his cocoon. See he was inside the snugli inside a blanket inside of Ben's coat. Ben said he felt like a fat man but I think he looked a little pregnant. We got the perfect first pumpkin for Brayden and made sure it weighed less then him (it was 5 lbs).
Ben and I also attempted to get our Swine Flu shots this weekend which was a joke. The line was INSANE!!! People lined up the night before and the line circled not just the building but the entire shopping center.... multiple times. Needless to say we did not get it this week but hopefully next weekend we have better luck. I refuse to line up the night before though!

Today Ben and I got our church callings to be on the activities committee which should keep us busy with all the holiday activities coming up. We already have assignments for trunk or treating next weekend.

I guess that is all we have to report nothing really overly exciting but next weekend there will be Brayden's first Halloween pictures to report.
